Matt Damon and Mother Reject Union's Award because the union is too cozy with TFA.

We’re officially in Wonderland.

Eye roll. And I’m sorry, but I have more nuanced answers elsewhere. TFA is not the enemy, and I’m going to reblog something like this every time. It’s not perfect, and it’s certainly not “the solution,” but wouldn’t collaboration improve it? Wouldn’t some sort of hybrid teacher-training-and-recruiting model be the solution? How is rejecting a reward, simply on principle being constructive? How is discounting and undermining the experience of TFA corps members who actually care and do a good job and become invested in the profession any better than what TFA is accused of doing to the teaching profession?  Also, for the nuance I didn’t want to give—someone come do my job better than I do. I know you exist, but very, very few are lined up for it. Ask my colleagues if they resent me for being TFA. Never had a single one express that to me. They’re just glad that I work hard and want to learn.

Isn’t the “enemy” a lack of funding? Lack of respect? Housing issues? Hunger? Lack of adequate health care? Can’t we all just get along?
